Omega-3 fatty acids are among the essential fatty acids in a healthy diet and have important functions in the body.

The omega-3 fatty acids are essential substances that are vital for life. These fatty acids cannot be produced sufficiently by the body, which is why it should be taken through the food. Omega-3 fatty acids are contained in oil, e.g. linseed, hemp, walnut or canola oil. Marine fish such as salmon, Atlantic herring, anchovies and mackerel also have omega-3. These foods should be on the menu once a week. Alternatively, they can be taken through dietary supplements such as BODY ATTACK Omega-3.

The omega-3 fats of fish are one of the active fatty acids, which contain much of the fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

The BODY ATTACK Omega-3 softgel capsules are made of pure fish oil and contain 18 percent EPA and 12 percent DHA. The latter may contribute to maintenance of normal brain function and vision (at a daily dose of 250 milligrams) EPA and DPA contribute to normal cardiac function at a dosage of 250 milligrams.

Omega-3 of plant origin is not considered as valuable as that of animal origin, as it does not contain any DPA and EPA, or it is rather difficult to convert into these. EPA and DHA are found as such in fish oils, but only to a much lesser extent in beef.
